| Customer Reviews: Average Rating: Rating : - Go and ask the milkman Consolers Of The Lonely grows on me with each time I listen to it. At first there was no sure-fire hit like "Steady, As She Goes", but this is a solid collection through and through. Right now "The Switch and The Spur" is my favorite, with the Western theme, horns, piano, and of course Jack White's guitar. The title track is a straightforward guitar driven head banger, but others songs like "You Don't Understand Me" and "Old Enough", mix it up stylistically and musically, throwing in piano, organ, and violin, as well as the previously mentioned horns. Unlike other albums that are very front loaded, Consolers does not have any real weak stretches or filler, and the last three songs are just as good if not better than the first three. I could imagine pretty much any song being on someone's favorite list. Quickly becoming one of my favorites of the year, definitely the best rock album so far. + See Full Customer Review | |
