I had plantar fascitis and looked at the MBTs as shoes that would not only provide a lot of cushioning but also promote better gait. I like my MBT sandals a lot, but none of the closed-toe MBTs work on my narrow foot, even though I worked with a fit professional at a good shoe store. I even tried to modify one pair by using thick socks and adding extra lace holes--no luck. Once, I was told that MBT would make a narrow-lasted version in the near future, but that was several years ago and they never did. So, if you have a narrow foot or narrow heel (or both), pass these by.
