Red Green, the flannel-shirted handyman who believes that anything is possible "if you use enough duct tape," is the understated center of attention, but he's nearly always joined (and annoyed) by his incredibly nerdy nephew, Harold. And if the two of them can't get into enough trouble with their misbegotten handyman projects, friends and neighbors, including forest rangers and garage mechanics, are often around to make everything unravel. In this collection that spans six years of Red's televised misadventures, the gang gets involved in several promising schemes that inevitably lead to disaster, and Red hosts handyman how-to segments that no one in their right mind would ever try at home. The humor found in the friendly confines of the Possum Lodge isn't to everyone's taste, but if you adapt to the deadpan delivery and slow pace, these programs do begin to grow on you. The sight gags are crude, the production seems to strive to look low-budget, and the jokes are often so bad that you'll find yourself laughing no matter how much you know you shouldn't. --Robert J.
