This is my kind of book! If I wanted to wade through tons of theory, I would get one of the 400+ page photography books on the market; I really don't have alot of time for all of that. I know some purists out there will scoff at this kind of book, which, along with Volume 2, get to the meat of the subject. I personally find getting to the meat of the subject extremely helpful. This allows me to not only get a particular shot I am looking for with a minimal amount of figuring things out, but it also provides a great stepping stone for me to experiment more and go beyond. And I personally enjoy his humor. More than once, I got a good chuckle at some of his remarks. The looks of the book are nice as well. Each page gives a wonderful photo example, as well as Scott's take on a particular photographic subject, instructions, and helpful advice. I own several books by this author, and have not been disappointed by any of them.
