| Customer Reviews: Average Rating: Rating : - Not bad at all... Bought this unit about a month ago through Amazon. I must agree with most reviewers that all in all, it is a very decent unit for the price range.
I have the unit connected to my home gigabit network, with satellite internet, DirecTV DVR, DVD recorder, Bose speakers, and a Mediagate MG-35 with 750Gb media drive. So far, the unit has performed impressively well. It took me several evenings to set up the system and get it tweaked to my satisfaction, but my overall impressions have been quite positive. It has communicated flawlessly with all of the other components, including pulling music and video off of my home computer, and the internet radio is a real plus.
The speaker dynamics and tonal qualities are all adjustable to accomodate both environment and speakers, and, although an automatic adjustment system would help immensely, after a bit of experimentation, I was able to set the acoustics up in a very satisfactory manner. Sound is crisp, even at higher volume levels, without the muddiness heard with lesser quality amp circuitry.
Cons: The Remote, while useful and fairly logical, should have had a learning mode. I'm still stuck with three remotes. In addition, the receiver has a fairly steep learning curve, and the manual does not always provide the clearest explanation and instructions. Thus, the less technically inclined could find setup a frustrating experience.
Conclusion: Overall a reasonable and flexible midrange receiver with a good mix of features not often found together at this price range. Good sound, so-so remote, and manual good but could be better. + See Full Customer Review | |
