The YAS-70 provides surround sound experience - without the need for the usual multi-speaker system. Listeners hear five channels (with the appropriate sources) from the Air Surround unit and robust bass from the subwoofer. DVD movies and other sources, including stereo sources like TV, will be heard in dynamic surround sound. In addition, the design is both elegant and flexible - there is no need for speaker boxes placed around the room, no need for lots of speaker cables, and both units can be positioned in the center of a wall or in a corner.

Rating : - Huge disappointment; horrible tech support from yahaha; bought a lemon:
after countless hours on the phone with yamaha , and buying multiple optical cables, the optical connection in the back of the sub was defective....
what a horrid experience dealing with such a well known audio company, had been a loyal customer of their audio products, but not anymore after what they put me through..., went out and replaced 3 separate expensive optical cables, they kept placing the blame with other source components...
should have gone with the comparable Sony!!!
